What if my photo doesn't work well?
We check every image before printing. If your photo is too dark, blurry or detailed to paint well, we contact you and help you pick a better one. You never receive a canvas we wouldn't paint ourselves.
I've never painted before. Can I really do this?
Yes. Every area on the canvas has a number that matches exactly one paint pot. You simply fill them in, one section at a time. Beginners usually start with 24 colors, and the finished result surprises everyone, including you.
Which size should I choose for a portrait?
Faces need space. For portraits and pets we recommend at least 16"x20" with 36 colors, and 48 colors if you want maximum detail. Smaller sizes work best for simple photos with one clear subject.
Can I return a custom kit?
Since every kit is made from your personal photo, custom kits are produced individually for you. If anything arrives damaged or incomplete, contact us and we make it right.

Absolutely love doing these! Wish that the smaller details were highlighted better on the sheet that comes in order to see the numbers better! Also the paint dries out quick in the little container. I’m constantly having to add water to it to thin it out. The acrylic thinner doesn’t work as well as water. Other thank that I’ll keep doing them and ordering. Love 💕 them!!

This was a vacation photo. dIY did a great job making it into a paint by number project. Great colors and so fun to paint. The only downside is the crease down the middle that doesn’t seem to go away. Plan to get it stretched on a frame and hope that remedies it. Otherwise very happy with how it turned out.

Almost done...It has very small areas and some numbers are hard to see. Paper copy is even smaller so that was not a great help. That being said, I LOVE the result it looks exactly like the picture I took of her! (I wish I had picked a different picture with a background color that wasn't the same color as her FUR!! I'll be more careful for my next kit.)
Very enjoyable project. More relaxing and focusing than I expected. Can’t wait to reveal it to my son and his wife. I’m very satisfied and think it’s great . Hope they like it too.

Ordering way to many but I sit and paint daily for 4 to 6 hours and the process is my reward … finished painting not too bad as a result. Thank you for making my 80 th year so successful and enjoyable
It took 10 days to get it but the quality is amazing. Canvas, print and most of all the paint! Smooth, creamy, it’s so easy to paint. Surprisingly brushes are great too. Perfect sizes, one is very tiny, ideal for thin parts of the painting. The major problem is that my cat is gray and it will be brown;) But it was based of the picture and for some reason she appears brownish on it. So it’s not anyone’s fault. Overall, great price, great quality!
Learning curve to add the correct amount of flo additive to the paint, the correct amount of gesso to the canvas to give the canvas tooth and using the correct brush type for small areas. A real tutorial about how to paint PBN would produce more satisfied customers. IMHO
It turned out perfectly. My daughter is dating a gentleman from Greece. And that’s his favorite soccer team.

"Duncan", my long time secretary's dog, got sick and had to be put down after many happy years. I had a friend send me a photo of Duncan which I submitted to DIY-Paint By Numbers. They sent me back the canvas, and I painted it. Attached is the photo and the finished painting. I'm going to surprise her with it soon. She's going to start crying.........just as I have planned!

I enjoyed painting my sister-in-law . It came out so detailed and close to photo. I got the 36-color option which adds to detail. The magnifier that came with painting was very handy to read some of the numbers. All in all I was happy with the whole process.
